Maps

Ribbit Royale has five maps, each built for a different style of fight. Choose a map under the mode picker on the main menu. Every map is a separate lobby, so you can always find the battlefield you want.

Castle Island seen from above

Castle Island

The original map. A stone castle stands on a green island surrounded by the sea, with towers, walls and a windmill around it. The castle walls give snipers long sight lines across the island, while the courtyards and towers make for close sword fights. Castle Island is a free-for-all map and the home of battle royale.

Tip: Grapple onto the castle towers for a view of the whole island, but do not stay up there too long. Every other sniper can see you too.

The Compound map with its hangar and shipping containers

Compound

A walled military compound on a tiled floor, with a large hangar, concrete houses, dome tents, shipping containers, crates, low walls and a guard tower. The compound is small and crowded, so fights happen fast and at short range. It is a team deathmatch map.

Tip: The shotgun and AK-47 shine here. Use the containers to break line of sight and flank the other team.

Island Base with the rocket in the middle

Island Base

A coastal base on a concrete plateau, ringed by pine trees and rocky cliffs above the sea. A red and white rocket stands on a platform in the middle of the map, joined by walkways to bunkers with tunnels running through them. A hangar, a command tower, barracks, ammo crates, barriers and containers fill the rest. Island Base is a free-for-all map.

Tip: The tunnels through the bunkers are a safe way to cross the middle of the map without being seen from the rocket platform.

Temple Island with its red pagoda

Temple Island

A Japanese temple on a round island in the sea. A stone wall with pillars rings the grass. Inside are a raised stone plaza, a terrace with a two-storey red and white pagoda, two halls on platforms, a gatehouse with a red torii gate, koi ponds with arched bridges, stone lanterns, bamboo, pines and cherry trees. Temple Island is a free-for-all map with lots of height to play with.

Tip: The pagoda terrace in the centre controls the map. Approach it from behind the halls, not across the open plaza.

Dune Crossing desert town

Dune Crossing

A walled desert caravan town of sandstone walls and flat-roofed buildings. A raised courtyard overlooks the middle, a covered market sits in the centre, an open-roof pottery depot guards the far side, and a sunken canal runs underneath part of the town. Market stalls, crates, clay pots and palm trees give plenty of cover. Dune Crossing is a team map built for 5v5 and team deathmatch.

Tip: The canal is the quiet route between the two sides. Throw a smoke grenade at its exit before you climb out.

Ribbit City harbour town

Ribbit City

A low-poly harbour town on an island in the sea. A plaza with a frog fountain sits in the middle, ringed by streets with parked trucks. Four apartment towers stand along the north side, two pairs of them joined by glass skybridges, around a green-roofed landmark with a golden crown. Brick and stone blocks have stairs and ladders up to their rooftops, and south of the plaza a lower waterfront is cut by two canals with wooden bridges and a pier. Ribbit City is a free-for-all map.

Tip: The rooftops with stairs are quick to reach and see over the streets. Use the stairs on the mid-rise blocks beside the towers to reach the tower terraces.
