Weapons and movement
Every frog knight carries three things: a main gun in slot 1, a sword in slot 2, and a movement tool in slot 3. You choose the gun and the movement tool in your loadout (press L). Every option is free and open to every player, so a fight is decided by skill, not by what you own.
Slot 1: your main gun
Sniper rifle
The sniper rifle is built for long range. Right-click to look through the scope, and a well-placed shot takes a frog down in one hit. It fires slowly, because you work the bolt after every shot, so a miss leaves you open for a moment. Shots fired without the scope are much less accurate. The sniper is at its best on big open maps such as Castle Island.
Shotgun
The shotgun fires a spread of pellets that deal huge damage up close and very little far away. It is the strongest choice on small maps like Compound, and a good partner for the grappling hook, which can pull you right into shotgun range.
AK-47
The AK-47 is a fully automatic rifle that is good at almost any distance. Fire in short bursts to keep it accurate, and press R to reload. Headshots hit hard, so aim high. If you are not sure which gun to pick, start with the AK-47.
Slot 2: the sword
Every frog carries a large knight's sword. Left-click to swing. The sword is quiet, never needs reloading and wins most fights at point-blank range, especially against a frog who has just landed next to you or is reloading. Switching to it is instant, so many players swing right after a shotgun blast.
Slot 3: your movement tool
Grappling hook
Fire the hook at a wall, roof, tree or another frog and it pulls you towards that point. You can swing around corners, climb buildings in a second, or reel yourself straight at an enemy. Press E to use the hook at any time without switching slots.
Rocket launcher
The rocket launcher can damage other frogs, but its real strength is movement. Fire a rocket at your feet as you jump to blast yourself high into the air. Rocket jumps never slow you down, so skilled players use them to keep their speed while crossing a map.
Dash and momentum
Press Left Shift to dash a short distance in the direction you are moving. Frogs keep their momentum in the air, so a dash into a jump, or a hook swing into a rocket jump, carries you much further than walking. Only pressing backwards slows you down while you are in the air.
5v5 grenades
In 5v5 the hook and rocket launcher are swapped for one grenade per round. Hold G to see a dotted arc and a landing ring, then release to throw. Right-click while holding to lob it higher instead.
- Smoke: makes a thick wall of smoke to cross an open area or hide behind.
- Molly: leaves a pool of fire that blocks a path for a few seconds.
- Flash: blinds every frog looking at it when it goes off, including you.
- Frag: explodes after a short fuse and damages every frog nearby.
Skins and paints
Weapons, capes and outfits can be changed with cosmetic skins from the shop, such as painted swords, shotguns and rifles, glowing capes and full knight outfits. Skins only change how things look. Every version of a weapon has exactly the same damage, range and fire rate.
